Destinations you'll fall in love with

Are you planning a romantic holiday, far from the city crowd and traffic noise? We bring you a list of the five most charming small towns in Croatia, ideal for honeymoon and vacations with significant other.

Varaždin - this lovely town in the north of the state has always been considered one of the most beautiful places to live in Croatia. It is famous for its exceptional monumental and artistic heritage with the best-preserved and richest baroque urban complex. Varaždin is an ideal place for all kinds of visitors, but especially for lovers of history and romantic couples, with its many castles and palaces and picture-perfect courtyards.

Varazdin

Rovinj – this charming Mediterranean town was declared a cultural monument in 1963. Rovinj rises on a peninsula and due to its narrow space, its buildings with characteristic colorful facades look like they are hugging each other. One of the biggest attractions of Rovinj is the church of St. Euphemia, which resembles the famous bell tower on St. Mark's Square in Venice (no wonder since it was built by the Venetians). Apart from being a gem itself, Rovinj is an ideal starting point for exploring other romantic destinations, such as inner Istria and the Brijuni National Park.

Motovun - located on a hilltop overlooking the Mirna River valley in Istria, Motovun is one of the most famous and romantic Croatian medieval towns, as well as one of the most recognizable symbols of the Istrian peninsula. It is surrounded by vineyards from which the finest Istrian wines, white wine Malvasia and red wine Teran, are produced. Motovun is also a perfect destination for truffle hunting. If you're in Motovun, don't miss out on exploring the other beautiful fairytale-like towns nearby - like Grožnjan, Momjan, and Oprtalj. No wonder Istria is called Terra Magica!

Motovun

Korčula - a beautiful historical town surrounded by towers and walls, located on the east coast of the island of the same name. Building outside the town’s walls was forbidden until the 18th century, so consequently, Korčula is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean, looking like a fortified city from afar. What to do when in Korcula? Take a walk through the stone streets and discover numerous cultural and historical sights, enjoy the local gastronomy and top-quality Pošip and Grk wine and take a short boat trip to the island of Badija or other nearby islets to enjoy beautiful natural beaches.

Korcula

Nin – the small town of Nin is known as the oldest Croatian historical town and the town with the smallest cathedral in the world, but also as "Europe's best romantic destination". The town and the beautiful lagoon of Nin Bay are characterized by a wonderful and rich heritage, sandy beaches with healing mud, and salt fields. Nin is also an ideal destination for trips to nearby national and nature parks and other small fishing towns on the Adriatic coast.
